Eric W. Barfield

Eric is a Certified Aviation Insurance Professional (CAIP) and also holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation. A graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a B.S. degree in Aviation Business Administration, he is Secretary of the NBAA Safety Committee and an active member of the South Carolina Aviation Safety Council. In addition, he is a Multi-Engine Commercial Pilot with Certified Flight Instructor and Instrument Ratings. Prior to joining the firm in 1998, he was a general aviation underwriter for USAIG.

Eric participated in the 2009 "Road Trip Mission Trip" performing service projects throughout cities in South Carolina, organized Hurricane Katrina relief trips to the Gulf Coast, and previously served on mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Taiwan. He enjoys flying, running (surviving the 2007 Myrtle Beach Marathon with a PR of 3:33), biking (completing the 2008 Beautiful Back Roads Century in Georgia), teaching Sunday School, and spending time with his family. Happily married since 1990, Eric met his wife, Kathy, at the airport! Together they are the proud parents of Daniel, who was born in 1997, and stay busy keeping up with him as well as two golden retrievers, Beau and Grace.
